    Please note if considering these larger panniers, that they do hit at the same time as the tip over bars. You will almost certainly scratch your lids if you have a tip over!

    Just seeing the NT laying on it's side reminds me of my BMW K1200LT! It seems that bike always was tired, and wanted to lay down to rest. I proudly wore my "DA" (Droppers Anonymous) pin on my jacket.

    Because I do a lot of long distance touring, I was considering the installation of the Large Pannier Lids on my eventual NT (not available in Canada yet!), being wary of their size and appearance. But they look great! Thanks, James, for those very nice pictures!

    And now we have proof that the NT needs after market rear tip over bars, like the Concours. But the design is not easy, the panniers being integrated and non removable. Come on, Larry Buck (Buck Sport Touring), don't you see a business opportunity here?

    Not being an engineer of any kind, I keep thinking that the rear tip over bars could be done by removing the rear passenger pegs and installing some sort of peg that did not flip up and was slightly longer than the OEM rear, this would tie into the frame and act as a rear tip over bar while still being a functional passenger footpeg.

    Now someone needs to either build it, or explain to me why it wont work.

    There are some folks over on the ST fourm that have made rear tip over bars for the ST. I have a set on my ST now. I'll have to study My NT and see if someting like that can be done.

    Chuck,

    MCL was looking at removing the rear passenger pegs, as James suggested, to get a mounting point. I think that is the only mounting option at well...

    I have been watching the following site for a while and just saw a price drop on larger lids this is just under $400 US the color matches our Bloom Red. Shipping from the Netherlands should be reasonable due to air parcels like DHL FedEX and UPS all fly in the area.     go to ebay-UK and you can get the larger lids for $110 each or $220 for the pair
