Should change the oil/filter?

I changed the oil/filter at the start of the season using Rotella T6 and have travelled about 1900 miles. I am leaving on Monday for a trip to Canada and Alaska and looking at putting on another 3400 miles. Would I be fine waiting until after I return or should I change the oil/filter before I leave?

Thanks for your help, Clint

All total, you'd only have 5300 miles. I would make the trip as-is.

I agree with Dirtflyer and Phil, you are good to go. While on trips, I have gone as long as 7800 miles on oil before changing. (That was a Harley, and no, I never added any oil.) Never had a problem.

I would be more worried about tires then your oil. Short use takes more of a toll on oil then a long ride. Enjoy your ride, just don't drive faster then you angel can fly.

I've gone over 10K on three or four long trips and have never added oil, either to the NT or to either of my Connies (except for one time when I replaced a balance shaft seal on Connie #1 and didn't get it seated. I think I used about 2 1/2 qts that time before I could get another seal and replace it right. Long trips, like Miairhead said, don't put much strain on oil.
