After I arrived at work this am, one of my driver's said that my rear tire on Traveller had a big knot on it. Sure enough a blister the size of a golf ball was on the left chicken strip. I have a trip planned in October to the New England states so I was gonna replace it beforehand but I would have waited another week or two to do so. I'm glad he spotted it 'cause it could have been mighty exciting had it blown on the Interstate. Can't complain tho' this Roadsmart 2 lasted right at 18K miles. I ordered a new Roadsmart 3 that will be installed Friday. It is not the same size as the OE tire. It is a 160/70 which according to my calculations is less than 2% different than the OE size. For whatever reason, Dunlop chose not to offer the RS 3 in "our" rear tire size. The RS 3 is supposed to be even longer lived than the RS 2. We shall see.

I have a pair of Dunlop Roadsmart 3 with the $100 rebate ready for next season, my Metz are still okay for the rest of this year. I will do tires, and brake pads in spring, and be ready for next season, the salesman at BMWRA rally talked me into these, he was working hard, and I think Dunlop has maybe made a really good tire. I change tires when they scuff effecting ride or if I feel the tread is showing wear. My front is scuffed, I did not notice till I was checking brake pads, and never noticed on ride. I had a rear brake pad come unglued on a ride in Tennessee (looked fine on new tire change), I will always replace pads with EBC I think from now on.
I had to replace rotor after ride, and road home with only front brake (not very much fun on twisties).

There are some deals out ther on RS2s. I guy my son rides with just bought some for his Concours 14. This guy is know for trashing a set of tires in a long weekend. He is a very agressive rider (and a good one) and travels from MN to TN, NC, SC, AL, KY, etc for sport riding and also does lots of track time. He found RS2s for $100/set. They asked him how many he wanted. He asked how many do you have. They said 10 sets. He said I'll take them all. Not sure of the retailer, but it was very likey Jake Wilson.

Did you go to the casino after finding your bad tire the easy way? You sure should have.

By the way, I'm enjoying a been is an O'Rilley can cooler from NatSTOC, and I used those free screw drivers yesterday. Thank you.

Wow, Mike! You know what they say: lucky is better than smart. I don't know if that's always true, but lucky sure never hurts.

After the 3-Flags Classic, I've got 10,702 on my PR4s. I'll be riding to Wichita and back in early October and they look like they'll be good for a few more thousand after that.

I've thought about trying the RS-3s next, but I'm having better luck with these PR4s than with the set that only lasted 8,000.s
