    Greetings from over the pond

    Hi all,

Having just picked up a 2010 NT700V, this looked like a great place to be!

    A quick bike history

    • now sold - 2004 Honda CBR125RR (first bike, all show, no go!)
    • now sold - 2002 Suzuki SV650 - I still maintain that this has one of the best real world engines ever put in a street bike.
    • 1996 Suzuki GN125 - rubbish, but still running, took me places a 125's shouldn't really go, over the Pyrenees, through France and Spain all while being rusty and over 20 years old!
    • now sold - 2008 XT660R - Worst example of Fuel Injection and worst brakes on a modern road bike, regretted purchase, but did pull like a tractor in the right gear.
    • 2013 KTM 200 Duke, amazing fun bike, future classic!
    • and 2010 Honda NT700V - only had it for a week, we'll have to see how this one goes ;-)

Welcome to NT-World, ajt2! We've got a great Forum with lots of friendly people. My guess is that you'll love the NT -- I bought my '10 ABS-version new in March of '10 and it's been great for 125,000 miles. The biggest problems I've had have come from defective maintenance on the rear drive notperformed by Honda mechanics during rear tire changes. Twice they've failed to lube the splines with Honda Moly-60 and once the guy got spacers in wrong. The first final drive rebuild came under my extended warranty and the second my original dealer (who had not been guilty of the mis-maintenance) gave me a really great deal on the rebuild labor and parts.

My motorcycle history is shorter than yours.

    1) I learned on a friend's Honda Shadow 600
    2) I bought an '83 Honda GL650i Silverwing and rode it for 19K before selling it a year later when I bought a...
    3) '99 Kawasaki Concours (you guys on that side of the Pond called them GTRs). I rode it for 115K and seven years before I wadded it up one night in the mountains. Three months later I bought a...
    4) '99 Kawasaki Concours. I rode that for another four years and 50K miles before buying my...
    5) '10 NT700VA.

Enjoy your new bike and share some ride reports with us!
