I ordered the first batch of 50,000 mile stickers this afternoon. I stole Timothy Aldrich's design for the NT-Owners Rally stickers (hope that's all right, Tim!). They're white ovals, 2" X 1 3/4", with black lettering. Across the top they'll say "You Meet the Nicest People On" and on the bottom, "NT-Owners.Org". In the middle it'll say "50,000 Miles".

These stickers go to the bike not to the owner, so you don't have to ride your bike 50,000 miles if you bought it used. When your odometer says "50000" just send me your name and address and your bike's serial number (last four digits of the VIN) and year. I'll send you a sticker right away.

If any of you are getting close, you don't have long to get there before I do. I'm at 49,821 miles right now and will put another couple on tonight. If I don't go anywhere till I go to Sun Honda for my new head bearings next Friday, the trip there will put me over the top.

It is going to be a long time before I get to 50K with my NT. However I am twice over 50k on my ST (110,000 miles). Does that count?:doh1:

LOL Chuck, If he lets you have one for the ST I will have to get on him for a 100K + for the GL1800! :rofl1:

Chuck and Eldon, I love you both, but I'm not going to give you stickers for your other bikes. Get the Goldwing and ST people to start a sticker program for those bikes!

It's interesting how you guys with multiple bikes want our pity. :)

Thanks for the effort Phil... That's a good goal and I'm sure you'll run out of them once it starts to happen.

Congrats on your impending 50k'er.

How about a picture of the stickers?

I want to be the second one to get a sticker. I've got 13,000 to go. Who's my competition? I think Rick is in my neighborhood. Anyone else?

I have 22,500 miles to get there. I may be second to get one, projection of 50,000 in June 2013 and the fastest to get there on this forum with 1.5 yrs(6-2013) of NT ownership.

Mellow, I'll post a picture as soon as the stickers are in my hands -- they're supposed to be ready next week.

Herb, you're doing pretty good. If Bob Higdon has been riding at all, he's probably pushing us all pretty hard, but he doesn't participate in the Forum. He put 36,000 miles on his first NT in slightly less than a year. Then he got sidetracked by his Super Tenere, which has now been sold, and he's back to riding his second NT.

The guy who may beat you whose on the Forum is Woodaddict. He really piles up the daily miles and is very persistent -- I think he rides nearly every day.

And there are rumors of a little old lady in Pasadena who just keeps chugging away....

If this year is any indication, it would take me 9 years to get the sticker!
However next spring, when Brian and I ride back to California from Louisiana I will add another 6,000 miles on that one trip.

How do you put so many miles on your bike? I don't recall a major trip. Commuting and local weekend riding? Very impressive totals this year.

I wish it was vacation, lesuire, mountain, desert, or retirement riding. :) Anything but back and forth to work riding. But it is, I ride a 110 mile round trip to work each day. I have worked alot of Saturday's, and 3 Sunday's this year, more than last year. Which helps pile miles on. Right now at 10 months and 1 week of NT ownership I have 27,500 miles. Whew! It is great to get 54-56 MPG back and forth to work. Given the 50MPG rating of the NT, better is great on my long commute. I'm already slightly lowering my MPG by colder nights to about 52-54 MPG, the idle stays up more to get warm. I could not work this far away with driving a truck(19 mpg) or even a car that would get 40MPG. My farthest trip was Memorial weekend. Talked my wife into riding to Tale of the Dragon and Cherohala Parkway, she does not do long rides, and my first time there. That was a 850 miles round trip. Plus I ride near house for errands.
Herb, I was amazed you and wife rode to Spearfish and beyond and even did some camping on the NT. I read your posts and looked at pics. Great job, but, ahh, watch your speed :rofl1:.
PS. I had 2 PC800 with 245,000 miles in 13 years. That was a work commute of either 90 miles round trip or 54 round trip working at 2 different jobs in 11 years. This 110 mile commute is my farthest I have ever rode for my 2 years and 10 months of working at this location. My best yearly mileage was 1998 about 19,500 miles, followed by 2010 and 2011 about 27,500 miles, followed by this year will be about 32,000 miles, because of warmer winter weather last year.

How many days have you not been able to ride?

People are always surprised around here that I ride nearly all winter. I'm comfortable down to 15-20F, but leave it parked in the garage if there's any chance of freezing precipitation.

Wow, 110 mi round trip commute! Mine is 22mi. I think Phil's is 2mi. With my cross country trip this year I was thinking that I might top the list this year. When I saw you frozen at 19,000 for several weeks at the end of the summer, I was thinking that you might be one of those fair weather riders..... NOT! You just like to update your mileage by 6,000 increments! Looks like I'd have to schedule another cross country trip to catch up.... ;-)

My commute is from my bedroom to the coffee pot in the kitchen then to the computer and back. :rofl1:love this retirement gig. Have now been retired for just over three years and haven't looked back. Been so busy I don't know how I had time to go to work.:shrug2: Time sure does go fast.:eek1:

Darn,,, you caught me! Yep, I did not post mileage update for 8 weeks, I was wanting you to ride your tale off trying to beat me!! I noticed you creeping up on me, then SCDAUB put in 17,000 something, just above you, and decided to update.
