I've done them every 8K but I'm at this stage, I'm going to double that interval.
Been watching this valve check post and others, so I knew I could go farther than 8,000 miles between checks. Last one was 2-1-12 with 4.832 miles, today had them checked with 31,241 miles, difference of 26,409 miles.

front exhaust check .008 & .007
rear exhaust check .008 & .008
set exhaust @ .008, spec is .007-.009,,,,so only 1 needed changed

front intake check .006 & .005
rear intake check .005 & .006
set intake @ .006 spec is .005 - .007,,,, so only 2 had to adjust by .001

All service intervalls are always set prematurely to prevent a problem or liability. Someone might get 26,000 on a valve check and take 3-5 years to ride that amount. It only took me from 2-1 to 12-1 , 10 months, too fast for me to check them every 8,000 miles. I don't do them myself. So just posted my #'s to let everyone know the valves wear very, very slowly. I have been using full synthetic oil since 8,400 miles.

I bought mine with about 4,000 on it so don't know if the valves were checked at 600 or not. I did the 8,000 and the 15,000. The tech told me at 8,000 they were right at spec., at 15,000 they were all loose (it was actually about 17,000 before I got it in).
