I got an update on the Mobil 1 engine damage. It looks like he was using a thin viscosity of mobil 1 and there was a fair amount of damage. Both cams, lifters, cam chains, and tensioners were damaged.
So beware. Make sure you are using the correct (recomended) oil and not just by brand name. It seems obvious looking back but it would be easy to grab some oil that is "energy conserving" and use it thinking it was good for your bike.
