Been watching this valve check post and others, so I knew I could go farther than 8,000 miles between checks. Last one was 2-1-12 with 4.832 miles, today had them checked with 31,241 miles, difference of 26,409 miles.I've done them every 8K but I'm at this stage, I'm going to double that interval.
front exhaust check .008 & .007
rear exhaust check .008 & .008
set exhaust @ .008, spec is .007-.009,,,,so only 1 needed changed
front intake check .006 & .005
rear intake check .005 & .006
set intake @ .006 spec is .005 - .007,,,, so only 2 had to adjust by .001
All service intervalls are always set prematurely to prevent a problem or liability. Someone might get 26,000 on a valve check and take 3-5 years to ride that amount. It only took me from 2-1 to 12-1 , 10 months, too fast for me to check them every 8,000 miles. I don't do them myself. So just posted my #'s to let everyone know the valves wear very, very slowly. I have been using full synthetic oil since 8,400 miles.
