Just got back from a long journey in the rain and found that my left pannier admitted quite a bit of moisture during the trip. Has anyone replaced the seal on the pannier? What's involved?

Mike,

The left pannier has always leaked on my NT. It's probably the latches (the rear one doesn't seem to pull the case fully closed. So you may want to investigate those first.

Mine also leaks. I too believe it is the latches not fully closing the big lid. I have thought about shaving a tiny bit of the top of the plastic post and then screwing the metal latch thingies back in. That should shut it a bit tighter. I never had any water get in with the small lids.

Well, there is no latch adjustment to fiddle with and Traveller will be turning 100K sometime next month so I suspect the weather seal is slightly collapsed. When I get around to putting the Franzen latches on, I will make sure the pannier latches tighter. The seal is offered separately so I may spring for new seals too while I am at it.
