I bought a 2010 Honda NT700V a couple of weeks ago with 21K miles. In good shape- I'd looked at a couple of others.
Have put about 600 miles on it so far and I'm very pleased- it reminds me of a touring NC700X. With the snap of cold weather and trying to establish a baseline, I'm working through the basics:
Changed rear differential oil
Changed engine oil and filter (HF204 oil filter is a perfect fit)
Grip Puppies
RAM mount on the clutch perch for GPS
Changed the spark plugs with iridiums- the stock were pretty rough, even though it ran fine
New Brake Fluid front and rear
New Brake Pads on order
Picking up Air Filter today- tupperware is off
It has a taller windshield, Corbin seat, friction cruise control and bar risers. I didn't like how the bar risers made the cables obscure the dash, so I removed them. I may like the handlebar position less, so I may switch back. Jury is out.
The left side pannier came loose and dragged. I've duct taped it shut, but need to either buy the larger pannier lids and keep stock closing mechanism or find/install some kind of external latching mechanism. Not married to either idea.
It has a power outlet hard wired to the battery. While the tupperware is off, I'm thinking about tapping into the switched power in the left lockable cubby. Not married to that idea either. Having real trouble getting the weatherized cap off of the four wire lead. Can't tell if I'm supposed to push in or pull up on the tab when trying to pull the connection off.
Great forum. Thanks for all of the helpful advice.
