Yep. Our garage is 30 by 36. With two big doors you could park a Peterbilt or two in it.

But, rules are rules. One bike at a time even though there’s room for another. Or three.

I’d love to fill ‘er up like ChucKRLST. But the Chief Financial Officer says no.

Right after returning from the NT-ST National Gathering a few weeks ago, the handwriting was on the wall. My CRF300L Rally was just too small / slow for the big trip each year. Even though it accomplished it twice, I needed bigger / faster / more comfortable.

I posted an ad on cycletrader.com on a Thursday, and the little 300 was gone by Monday. Still a hot item, thankfully. The new owner plans to use it more appropriately, on Back Country Discovery routes and the like. Bravo for him!

I had spotted a 650 VStrom last winter at a dealer in Oklahoma City. It kept calling my name. The dealer kept lowering the price. Now I had the cash in hand to buy it. I made arrangements to fly Southwest to OKC, they picked me up at Will Rogers Field, and as they say, the rest is history. It’s mine, all mine now.

I really like the bold (wild? extravagant?) yellow color with the gold spoke wheels. Still trying to come up with a good nickname. Goldilocks, maybe. Ol’ Yeller, uh, no. It will come to me some day.

So, the new to me bike is a 2021 DL650 VStrom XT Adventure with 10,300 miles. And lots of farkles: center stand, engine crash bars, Puig windshield, Delkevic exhaust, and, best of all, MC CRUISE CONTROL. First time ever for me. Lovin’ it!

After the 691 mile ride home to western New Mexico, it got a bath, oil change to full synthetic oil, and a chain clean and lube. Plans are already being considered for a tour this fall in cooler temperatures.

Thanks to everyone on the NT forum who own, or have owned, a “wee-strom”. Great testimonials from everyone helped me make the decision to buy. Looking forward to some good times!DF2A89AB-39F3-40A4-AC37-C19EBFCFF7A6.jpegAADA0807-1DAD-4D78-AA5A-B6845884B3F5.jpeg673CD0E6-F2E9-49C3-8119-45E8DE3CC8D8.jpegBE2D9B71-5513-4771-B992-7BFBEF2A9DA4.jpeg3F1DB320-BD5E-45F3-A53C-44A309A4FB9C.jpeg75B4AB16-552D-4FEA-85B3-2CEF37EA0F58.jpeg

Glad you went with a V-Strom. Can't go wrong at all. I prefer Cat Eye headlight models, but the basic V-Strom design is great and it is a do all machine.

Very nice! If I had ever bought a different bike than the NT, the Wee-Strom probably would have been it.

I love my 2017. The bigger cases would be nice but wouldnt work with my German bags.....a center stand is a must.....wonder what the after market exhaust does? The built in speedo error takes some getting used to but its a wonderful engine.....
I have a madstadt windscreen also but nothing beats the Givi....also the givi tank bag that locks onto a gas cap ring.

I would tour anywhere on mine. The Mirror extenders were a necessity. I hope your rear brake works better than mine.

I forgot about the mirror extenders - yes, it has them, too. Not so pleased with the windshield because it is nearly straight up. Can’t see a way to angle it .
Chris, the exhaust has a pleasant low sound at idle, but is louder than I prefer. Looks good, though.
The previous owner had some front pegs for the highway, which I have already removed. Not my style.
I’ll be looking for some new tires by spring.

One of the best things about the VStrom is the seat height- it’s about 3 inches lower than the CRF300L Rally! MUCH easier to mount for an old guy.

I've had an MC Cruise on my NT since around 2012 and love it. In all that time & miles, it has never given me a bit of trouble. :)

You're going to love it. I would have bought one but Suzi forgot to include that option. Heated grips are nice too but you can add those.

Wow!! By my count, that's 30 pizzas!! If they were just one pound each, that is a pretty amazing balancing act!

You ST guys let wives attend your events? Us NT guys don't bring our wives because we don't want them to see the reprobates we hang out with!
:rofl1:
