TNJT 24May: 70 Miles of dirt roads and twistes ...

I was thinking of doing the MABDR route this year but those plans got scrapped.

And then I discovered something called TNJT (Trans New Jersey Trail) - ~500 miles of back country dirt and twisty route from North to South jersey ...

So I decided to do some parts of it today in the GS.

Total ride was ~200 miles and loads of fun... the GS is a tractor, I could keep it in 2nd gear and it woudl just soak up the dirt road at almost idle RPM..

Did the second section today ... ~40 miles of back roads (dual and single lane) and 26 miles of gravel roads .. the pic below is right next to Trump National Golf Course, NJ.

Initial 30 miles is a very good route and easily doable by the NT, so if anyone is interested, I can share the route GPX with them.

All of us learnt a little by riding on the gravel road .. the bikes dancing around and how to use engine braking... I learnt a little more on how to lead a ride ... I think I am going to invest in a pair of 2 way radios for the lead and sweep...

Out of total 550 miles route, I have done ~130 miles, and ~225 miles to and from to the trail ...

PS: the NT is not neglected ... few days back took it on a 100 mile round trip to Bear Mountain in NJ .. light drizzle made it an awesome ride...

Another 80 miles done today We were 8 bikers on assorted bikes...

never know that Western NJ is so scenic and beautiful.... back country paved dual lane, single lane, compacted dirt and gravel roads…

Also saw my first covered bridge today
