Planning a 3 day ride from Washington to Colorado. Here is my route, subject to change due to weather, and hopefully inputs from anyone here. The goal is to stay off the interstates (I90, I80, I84, I15), see the open road, avoid cities, and try to limit my miles/day. I've reserved nights in Kooskia, ID and Dubois, WY. Zoom in on the map & check it out. I'm pretty excited about some of the ride, not that excited about 580 miles on day 2. Day 1 & 3 are 430 and 480 miles. I really need to plan a return trip.....ah, it can wait.

From Rowlins make your way to Waldon Colorado, via Saratoga Wy. and then Encampment Wy. to Waldon, and then take Poudre Canyon (Hiway 14) to Fort Collins. Much nicer this way.

+1 on Chuck's suggestion. Saratoga to Fort Collins via Walden and Poudre Canyon is one of the great rides in the US.
