I was heading into work yesterday, and just as I pulled up to the gate, my engine died, and it stayed in gear. I was able to switch to neutral and restart, but it seems odd to me that it should happen at all.
Has anyone else encountered this? Is it just the case that like experienced rider, things just come together in a perfect way? If so, it makes me feel better about stalling every few months on my manual.

Not particularly worried about it once, but, strange.

Mine did that once about 6 or 7,000 miles ago. Specifically upon first opening the throttle to leave my driveway which slopes downhill the engine quit and I was in 1st gear. It all happened so quick I don't recall if I choose N after the engine stalled or it choose N by itself. Whatever, I was still rolling about 2-3 mph in N and when I hit the start button the engine restarted. Recalling that Honda came up with a software update after early 2018 Goldwing owners reported instances of similar engine stalling off idle I noted that if it happened again I would report it to my dealer but it hasn't happened again.
