Half mile away. Light winds. 1/2 acre. Air support requested.

They jumped on it with 18 units. Great Job, fire district 10 . Tomorrow is the bad day...30 mph winds and 90 degrees and 8 percent humidity and a bunch of stupid people. I have done all I can in the last 20 years to make my 15 acres protected. wack to the dirt, trim and thin trees, and mow mow mow.

Glad to hear it... your place definitely looks kept up.
30 years of trimming, wacking and thining. And mowing. Had the fire dept and the Power company forester out and they taught me what I needed to know. But i am surrounded by slacker land owners, absent and present. The fire dept told me they are just going to let their homes burn and protect mine. But in a 40 mph wind, anything can happen.

Heavy smoke here this AM. Visability is down to about 300 yards. Air quality alerts are above red to purple. This is the worst I’ve ever seen here.

Spokane this AM . If I were home, my N100 mask works. In the house, a Merv 13 on a box fan really works. I have my own air quality meter. Don't shove a Merv 13 in just any HVAC system.Screenshot_20260717-190123.Facebook_copy_810x723.png

This fire/smoke stuff is way out of control. It just seems to get worse each year. I guess too many people not controlling and preventing them like with controlled burns and such.
The smoke haze pics from so far away from the fires are crazy. JJ's 9am sun pic is nuts.
Hope JJ and everyone else gets though this without major problems.
So far I haven't seen anything like this down here in Arkansas but we have plenty of woods and trees to fuel one.

Arrived at Oshkosh yesterday (7/17). No smoke or haze and airplanes were lined up for VFR arrivals. The previous day visibility made arrivals IFR. Other than some occasional poor air quality. Things are much better here than further North and the UP.
