Hello everyone!

I've decided to pop some 2" pivoting Rox Risers on my Deauville.

Issue is, of course the clutch cable is too short. The break and throttle cables appear fine without any issues.

I've looked on the forum and seen a lot of recommendations to just purchase the Honda XL 650 V Transalp clutch cable, and... it's still too short. Not by much, but still need probably another 1 or 2 inches to adjust it correctly with the freeplay included.

Any ideas what the next option of cable would be? Maybe an older Africa Twin? Or would that be too long?

Custom cables seem to be £50+, where as that Transalp was only £10 with next day delivery included. Was worth the try.

Before you give up on the Transalp cable, did you try an alternative routing arrangement? Many times I've found that an aletrnative routing can buy you an extra inch or two. Just be careful that your new routing doesn't interfere with any other controls.

Are you still able to raise the front of the fuel tank to access the air filter with these risers mounted?

Hiya Mike

Yeah I did, I managed to tuck the cable as close to the frame as possible navigating around the rest of the wires and I was still a good inch away.

If anyone wants the Transalp cable, it's free to a good home if you pay for the shipping :) Would be fine if you used smaller risers. I think my issue is that it's 2" but with the angle i've set the bars at, it's a bit of an awkward distance.

Looking at the photos, maybe? However, It would only take loosening the 12mm bolts on the handlebar and pushing it out the way if it was an issue. I haven't changed the air filter since owning the bike. Only the oil/oil filter.
