Looks like my 17 year old Sears 24" The "clearing stick" looks exact. I have a gravel and rock drive, and it eats those little skids. Like you idea.

The clearing stick was put on to make lawyers happy. Shakespere was right.

Yup. If you're dumb enough to stick your hand in a spinning, OR EVEN RUNNING, snowblower, then you need to be in the movie "FARGO".
You would also have to work at it. Red Green says all you need to do is duct tape down the impeller engage lever on the handle bar, THEN go to the front and put in your hand.
full disclosure. I use a sock to tie down the lawn mower kill lever and I have bypassed the lawn tractor seat pressure kill switch on my John Deeres.

Velcro strips work too. Even a chunk of wire if you don't care about the aesthetics (pretty sure you don't).
I had a SAAB once that had some kind of seat interlock. The mechanic told me that if I ever had a problem with it, to pl a certain relay. take a 2 inch strip of wire, and put the ends in two of the relay sockets. I asked him if any thing bad would happen it I just left the wire bypass in the relay. He said, "This entire conversation never happened."

Velcro would work. An old sock is easy to take on and off too. one granny knot. A small C clamp on the pressure switch on the tractor works. Wire is out. It's ends likes to dig into skin.

"Nothing is fool proof for a sufficiently talented fool." One of my many "mottos to live by". And one that I try to prove every day.

<sigh> I have surrendered to the safety devices and learned to live with them. At least Deere was kind enough to provide a switch to keep the mower deck engaged while backing.

I don't fool with those. The newer JD I have you only have to press it once. Not hold it. Chris on his way to Pearl Harbor. My room Stewards, Dwi & Dwi.
