Turbo Charger

Looks a lot like the Toshiba Turbo that Kawasaki put on the 750 Turbo they sold in 1984 and 85. It does work, in 1984 the Kawasaki 750 Turbo was the fastest production motorcycle!

There was a guy in Fort Morgan who had a turbocharged ZX10 and a turbocharged CBR1100XX. He didn't ride very often but I guess they were pretty fast and fairly reliable. He didn't have a lot of boost pressure and both bikes had had the turbos professionally installed.

There was a guy in Texas who had a C10 Concours with a turbo, too. It wasn't so reliable, but he was still working on it.

As fast as production bikes are off the show room floor I can only wonder why anyone would go to the effort to add an aftermarket turbo kit. You can buy a new Yamaha R1 that will go faster than any sane person would want to go for $16K

People add stuff to their bikes just because they can.

In Minneapolis trafffic on a hot dayI came up behind a Boss Hog with nitrous tanks on it riding 2 up. Traffic was stop and go and the other rider struggled greatly to handle that rig and passenger. Didn't look like he was having any fun at all to me. I was able to maneuver by him easily and just wondered why anyone would want to add N2O to a Boss Hog. Because he could!

I have a factory fitted turbo on my 1982 Honda CX500 Turbo.

It was the first Turbocharged, fuel injected, water cooled production bike made in the world and effectively develops the same power and torque as a 1982 CB900

It is already April 2nd here in Australia

Too bad it's April 2nd now or I'd describe the dual superchargers on my Goose that lets me go 250mph on a dirt road. :)

Well I took of the Turbo and removed the 200 mile tape and reinstalled the Michelins. It was had getting the bugs off the windshield, at 160 mph they stick.
I'll just be a standard NT rider again, at least for a year.

So, how many miles did you get out of the 200mph tape? I may have to carry a couple of rolls in case my tire splits at those high speeds.
