I just got my NT1100 a few weeks ago and I've noticed the feel of weight is very different from my BMW K1600 and my ST1300, lighter and higher. My wife's weight barely changed how they rode.

I'm getting ready to take her on an overnight trip and I'm curious if anyone can give any feedback on how this handles with a pillion compared to either of those two bikes? We're hoping to get a practice run in before our trip but we have an adult disabled son, so I'm not sure we'll be able to work that out.

If it helps, I am much bigger than her (6'5" 230lb vs 5'4" 150lb) and I have panniers and trunk. I easily flatfoot the bike, so I'm not worried about the on/off.

Any insight is appreciated.

This opens up a whole can of worms. First, most bikes are way taller than they need to be. I am 6 ft 1 in and its a challage to get on a loaded bike where I cant swing my leg over the rear seat cause of the soft luggage there. Having weight of any sort up high makes the bike a bit more unstable at slow speeds, espeecially if the bike is of the lighter variety. We can assume your wife knows how to be a pax, but you are correct, you will have to be more careful especially at slow speeds on a light tall bike. I wont take my wife who is 5 ft 7, 120 lbs for a ride because of just how dangerous riding has become in Spokane, ...WA is number 4 is most dangerous states to ride in. When I have to move from a dead stop quickly to avoid a little girl in a Suburban behind me on her cell phone, I dont need the added weight and imbalance of a person behind me. Even on my FJR.
Is your wife comfortable on the back of an NT?
