Yesterday I turned another year older.
So I decided, instead of sitting around the house moping about being another year older and deeper in debt 😉I would take the V-Strom and go do a short 100 mile birthday ride along my fav river route. Down by the South Platte near Deckers. Here are a few pictures along the river.

Congrats. As an older friend of mine once say to me regarding the subject. “Another year on this side of the ground is far better than being beneath it.”

Unfortunately my father didn’t get to see his 70th birthday due to cancer. Anyone that makes it past 69 with all their abilities and mind intact is doing good from my prospective

Happy Belated Birthday, young man! It was a nice day for a ride yesterday, and as always, I enjoyed your pictures.

When you're 50 age is just a number, at 60 it is a bigger number, at 70 it is a huge number, at 80 numbers no longer matter.

I'm not so sure I agree with that. I'm closer to 78 than 77 now and when I pass 80, I really want the numbers to keep on adding rather than stopping.

So far so good, but as the years creep up I am not sure waiting for my next b/day to go on a ride is a smart thing to do!..so a couple days ago I followed the Great Mississippi river from the Iowa Quad cities up through Belleview to Dubuque..a nice 160 mile round trip...I did take a little nap after dinner....

I rode up to Dubuque, IA from Mariam, IL back in 1994 on my 78' GL1000. I had to be about 20 years old then.

Happy birthday! When I got close to turning 60, I looked at what I had done with my life, and since the 3 kids were all grown up I:
First, divorced my nagging wife, second, restored my '87 BMW R80, third, bought the NT700V (all time favorite ride), and fourth, moved out of New Jersey so I could ride into the mountains whenever I wanted. I feel 20 years younger than I did at 60!
