While riding my first successful Bun Burner Gold, I rolled past 100,000 miles on MaY 16th while climbing over Warm Springs Summit, between Ely and Tonopah, NV. Today I finished my first BBG.

LOL, Dave. I won't sign it but I'm gonna' put it on.

After all, I'm 72. Who knows how long I'll be around to enjoy it.

Congratulations Phil!

I rode Hwy 6 between Ely and Tonopah two years ago on my DR650. I was worried that It was going to be hot, being July 3rd. It turned out to be a very nice, yet lonely ride. I think the temps stayed in the mid 80's. I remember trying to be good and go the indicated speed limit, but when I realized that I wasn't even half way and there wasn't any traffic I bumped it up to around 70. I was surprised how few vehicles I saw on that stretch. I remember seeing two bicyclist sleeping in tents along side the road. It seemed like the middle of nowhere. There were no gas stops between the two cities, so I was glad I fueled up in Ely. It is only 168 miles but if you don't fuel up in Ely, you might not make it. Some really straight stretches too. I thought we had straight roads in KS.
