My odometer rolled past 75,000 miles on September 3, 2013. I was about 2 km south of Red Bay, Labrador and I have the picture to prove it!

And here's the picture! When I picked the bike up on March 27th, 2010, the dealer had ridden it 16.0 miles. My friend Ken Harrell, he of the KTM 990 Adventure that he bought in Anchorage in June rather than replace a rear tire on his DR650, rode it about 25 miles one day while I rode his Wee-Strom.

Since my NT's got 75,066 miles on it now, I've put at least 75,020 of those on it.

Consequently, I respectfully request the 75,000 mile award.

Way to go Phil & Dudley!

It is time for Phil to make a trip to Australia as my NT700V has only travelled about 7,000Km's. Phil could see Australia and get some miles on my bike all at the same time. Win/win situation :)

If you get me to Oz and give me a stipend to help with expenses, I'll be more than happy to roll some klicks onto your bike! I'm a very helpful guy that way. :)

Terry, I'll turn 80,000 miles tomorrow morning, not long after I get into Illinois. 100K may take me another year or two; I don't think I'll be doing as many long trips in '14.

Terry, I've held up very well for an old, fat, cripple. When we started toward Alaska, my right wrist was feeling very arthritic and would hurt if I had to hold the throttle for very long (there are times when the cruise control or throttle lock just can't be left on). But as the trip went on that got better.

The knees have been pretty good. When I sit on the bike for a long time, I need to dangle my right leg occasionally because that knee doesn't bend past 90-degrees and gets a tad achy if I keep it on the footpeg for extended periods. And, the night I spent at Bay St. Lawrence, my left knee gave out on me while I was carrying my camping gear to my camp site. When it gave out, it really hurt, and scared me that the joint might be getting loose. But it didn't hurt during the night and only a few times the next day and none since.

I had hoped I'd lose weight, but the best I can say is that I haven't gained.

Overall, I've felt good every day and every day has been a joy.

Now, today might be a little different. It looks like I'll be in a good bit of rain and I've got 600 miles to go. So, we'll just see what happens. I might not make it to Lincoln. And if I don't, I'll just enjoy wherever I am.
