Ye-haw! Just passed 50,000 @ 50,027 miles today going to work. All by me since owning NT 12-7-11. Thats 19 months 16 days. Will be cool to be hand delivered a 50,000 sticker by Phil on the Epic ride when he comes by the east coast of NC, with pic of course to verify! WARNING: spoiler alert, I will be applying for my 75,000 award in May of 2014 at my rate. I thought somebody going to Spearfish would be the next one to get this milestone before me.

To those new forum members who think that I'm just out running around the country with nothing to do, here are some stats, to get to 50,000 miles.
My work commute is 110 miles round trip, 5 days a week, some Saturdays. From 12-7-11 to 12-7-12 had 31,864 miles. To show my motorcycle dedication in 2012 only drove truck 9 days, had a mild 2012 winter, allowing me to ride more days. Have heated gear for winter, rain gear for summer. So far in 2013, not quite as mild, have drove truck 12 days, want to finish out year with NT only, having passed up 2012 days already.
A little calculation, of the 50,000 miles, my best estimate is that 4,000 miles are not work related miles, so that would be 92 % work miles. I did take about 4 trips, the biggest was 850 miles.
Riding a motorcycle for this work commute makes it much more an adventure, than boring miles.

Got to meet the amazing forum moderator, super duper EPIC rider, Phil Tarman! He passed by on his Epic Ride and made a little time to hand deliver the 50,000 miles sticker. We had a 2 minute ceremony for pics and then off I rode with him for 146 miles toward Chesapeake, VA. Hey, I had to.....he just passed me on the mileage tracker for the year, so at least on that portion I stayed with him on miles Here are some verification pics.

thought I would update, have my NT 2 yrs today, now have 61,215 miles. will be tough to beat phil in 2013 mileage tracker, he had an epic ride results in epic mileage. i'm just under 2,000 miles behind

David, if you can get 20 days of riding in before the end of the year, you'll probably pass me. It's not looking good for me to get any more riding in before Christmas, and I'm driving to Wichita Christmas Day and won't get back till New Years Eve.

its going to be real close, looks like I can only get 14 days in. I am happy to be moving slightly closer on my work commute,on 12-16 will be 49 miles instead of 55 miles one way.

I guess I have could have been clearer. in nov 2012, company announced the building would close by nov 2013. a huge 259,000 sq ft building, most work going to china/mexico, some to other us facilities. our group of engineers, mold designers, machinists, mold makers, about 50 of us were saved. about 650 lost their jobs. we are moving about 15 miles away from previous building, but 6 miles closer for my drive or 12 miles round trip closer for me.
