CenterStand in the Pass Through?
So what is the pass through good for?............To carry your Center-stand home after it tries to fall off the bike on a ride. Let me explain. Took a ride today to move the Colorado ST Tag. Stopped in Idaho Springs for gas and went to put the bike on the center stand. The Stand was hanging down at a funny angle and would not deploy. Got down on my hands and knees to take a look and found the pivot bar had slipped out of the left pivot hole. What the Fun? How does that pivot bar stay in. There is a small 10mm bolt the hold the pivot bar in place on the right (exhaust) side of the the frame. The bolt had fallen out. So after about 30 mins of fiddling with (I did not have any tools with me, only the tool kit that Honda US gives with the bike....NONE) I was able to get the center-stand free and insure that the pivot bar would not fall out while I finished my ride. Where to put the center-stand. Won't fit in the Top Box, Won't fit in the panniers because of the foot lever sticking out. I know put the foot lever into the pass through and the center-stand will fit in the pannier. Finished my Tag ride and got home. Rummaged through my misc. bolt box and found a 10 mm bolt the correct length and added some lock-tight and the correct torque and spent 30 mins fighting with the springs and all is well now. Attached are some pics of the center-stand in the pannier and also a scanning of the manual showing how the unit mounts to the bike. Make sure during your normal maint. that you check this 10 mm bolt.
