No. (Assuming you wired it with the OEM wire harness configuration) The heated grip switch is powered when the ignition is set to "ON". As long as the switch has power, it will flash at low voltage regardless if you have the heated grips "on". Simply turn the ignition to "ON" and wait a bit and the light will start blinking on the grip heater switch.
