On a recent ride my friend had a smart brake module (that flashes rear brake light when you decelerate or down shift), no need ot tap the brake pedal. I found it very useful as i was tailing him and got a heads up that he is slowing down.
I found this unit and this generic version is discounted to $5. I ordered and it shipped. On eBay and amazon same unit is much more (they are version with bike specific connectors).
It works with the extra break light also and no need to splice the break wire ...
My friend also ran a wire form this unit to a LED on his handle bar, that flashes to let him know when he is slowing down due to engine braking...
