Got these on closeout last year, the new ones look similar:

They have been fantastic for me. Worn over underwear they are as cool as shorts without the sunburn and possible road rash problems. the inner liner on these is flat and they can restrict airflow somewhat over a 3d type liner. I am very happy with them.
I use mine as overpants in cooler and even cold weather. They will not keep you dry by themselves. They have a short zipper in the back at the ankles to tidy them up after you put them on. These are not intended to be put on with boots on. The liner lets you wear them commando style over underwear (pants for you Brits) mine are a size over what I wear for jeans and have waist cinches to adjust the fit. these get worn with everything except the moon suit now.
