I am just curious.
Why is there a small light bulb in front of the headlamp? What is its purpose?

It is left over from the bike being converted from European to US specs. That bulb is a "parking" light over the pond...

It's pretty useless on the European model as well... but the law over here says you've got to have a side light!

Could have sworn mine was lit. I'll have to check it out again.

I bought the bike used from a Honda dealer and they had no idea what it was for.
I figured that if I asked here, someone would know.

Had to be close to the first time you'd ever posted a short answer, too. :)

Hello,

Here in France, this bulb is working when motor is on! But there is no way to use it as "parking light" .
But french and european regulations say we must have this smal useless bulb!
On mine,i have put it away and mounted a DRL under the main light .
I am much more seen and it looks fine
Very simple to do and very efficient

Ahh... What size bulb did you put in in place of the "flashlight bulb" that's stock?

Hello,

There is no more bulb in the socket .
DRL are Day running lights .
I mounted these just under the main light
