Honda Recall - Incorrect tire pressure label

Just picked up this on the UK forum!! Over here our tyre pressures are 36 (Llbs) front and 42 for the rear tyre. I dont know how this equates in US gauges?

Don't you recall that on June 6th I posted that my tire label was incorrect? I told Honda about the problem way last May and had to take pictures of the label of which Honda said they could not read. Finally, in August I heated my label and took it off and mailed it to them and they could not deny the fact any longer.

Mine says 29 Front and 41 Rear. Owner's Manual and Shop Manual say 36 Front and 42 Rear. I run 42 Front and 45 Rear. Works for me. Bike hasn't complained either.

Wow, you have the Collectors Edition NT.... Don't give up that decal, you can claim all sorts of "collectors" exclusivity on eBay when you finally sell your NT...:D

I don't even want to think what they NT would feel like at 29PSI...

Did 50 miles this morning in 28F temp. My tires were at 42 front and 45 rear and the bike felt fine. It is sometimes a bit jarring going over frost heaves, but all in all the ride is good. The tires in my car are 40 and 45 in the Suburban. Been that way for years.

Why are you running them higher than recommended ?

Lots of "Tar Snakes" on the roads here in Maine. I find that the bike squirms less. Those pressures were recommended by a friend who runs a repair shop for sportbikes.

The stock Bridgestone tires have the stated maximum pressure on the sidewall as 42 psi. If that's what their engineers say, I would be very hesitant to exceed the manufacturer's posted maximum.

Motorcycle Consumer News came Monday and it had the tire pressure label recall listed. 120 bikes were affected.

I called Honda today to tell them that I was a little disappointed that they never gave me a thank you or we appreciate what you did when I made them aware of the tire label discrepancies way last May.
