This is well plowed ground in the Versys community. There's a fair sized bunch who think the Versys makes a great gravel runner, so the search for tires has been brisk. The problem is that there were none for a 17" front until recently, so folks raised the fender and ran a rear on the front. The tire companies are starting to catch up to a new market and there are now 17" fronts available. Among them are Heidenau K73, Pirelli Scorpion Trail, Conti TKC 80 and Avon Distanzia. There are others, but we had a power outage while I was doing the research last night, so that's all I have for you. I haven't run any of them yet, so can't offer any opinions.

I saw a youtube video where a guy put a Michelin Anakee on to do the IBR on a BMW GS. He rode 2500 miles to and from the start/finish lines, plus the 11K miles. Ended up with about 14K miles and still had lots of tread and said the bike did great
There is also a new 'Trail' version of the PR3 now
