There are two part numbers listed for the middle cowl, one is red the other silver. Which is which?

64230 MEW D01ZA $201

64230 MEW D20ZA $263

On Bikebandit which does not use Honda part numbers, they refer to the two different parts as type 1 or type 2.

Are your referring to the black plastic piece your knees touch in the middle of the plastic?

If so I have an extra left one, new in bag and never used. I can look at the part number when I get home. That part should be the same between all the NT700 models brought to the US between 2010 - 2012.

The right middle cowl is a different price than the left middle cowl--the left being more expensive. They also have different part numbers. I would check with your Honda dealer on the part numbers.

Here is an ebay link showing a silver is 64230 MEW D20ZA.

Here is a different ebay link showing red is 64230 MEW D01ZA.

Even with the ebay pics, I'd want to verify the correct color some other way. Not sure why it is so hard.

Ah-haa. This is better. This link shows the color code after the part numbers. R139 is red. NHA49 is silver.

Thanks for all the input. I had a get off earlier this week and have to replace some of the plastic.

It dawned on me last night just after I signed off, that a way to find the correct part # is to look up the part # for the NV700VA as it is only available in one color “silver”.

It is interesting to note that there is difference in price the between the two colors.

The silver, being a slower color, takes longer to apply, and therefore cost more.
