Thanks to those that reccommended changing the differential oil at 600 miles.....this is what mine looked like....
(along with the engine oil.) As a little project, since this is so easy to do, I am going to change it often this year and
see what happens. (Also changed Connies diff. fluid today...after two years...it looked about the same.....

Yeah, the diff oil has moly in it and comes out black. Next time you change it, it will look the same as when you put it in, nice and clean.

I'd be interested in the later pics as the bike is more broken in. Please post.
I don't really think changing the diff oil extends the life much if any but it is easy and cheap. Good insurance and peace of mind. That's why I changed mine early.

The greyness of the final drive oil just means you have removed oil that has moly in it. A fantastic antiwear additve that Honda has included in the factory fill of the final drive. Leaving that in the final drive wouldn't have hurt the bike one bit....might even be good for the initial 24k break in. :shrug2:
