I got to use the sides of my new Michelins quite a bit this weekend in the mountains. I pushed the bike on some pretty serious twisties, and the tires never gave me even a moment's pause. It was like I was on a rail.

I was more than impressed

I noticed a week ago with 6,000 miles, I needed new tires before very many more miles. I guess I better wait until after Christmas and ride the Vmax when it is warm enough, as I just put new tires on her a month ago.
The PR-3's sound like the way I was planning to go.

That's good to know. I'm moving to Colorado and plan to put on lots of miles in the mountains.
Where are you moving to out herer, Dr. Pepper? There are lots of great roads (even if not any of them are in Morgan County!).

I'm out in Fort Morgan, about 85 miles from Lakewood. We'll have to get together when you get out here. Chuck (chucksklrst on the Forum) lives in Aurora and and Ken (RedBird on the Forum) lives in Lyons.

I've got over 14,000 miles on my front PR3 now. About 6,000 on the Roadsmart 2 that's on the back. The Roadsmart 2 will be replaced when I replace the front PR3 since I've already got a set of PR3s waiting in the garage.

Right! I won't forget about you, Rocky. We'll all have to have a mini-Colorado Rally next spring. My problem until June 8, will be that I have to be here on Sundays and you work during the week. Ken has quite a bit of flexibility but still works a few days a week. Chuck doesn't do anything but ride and hike and watch his Wee take naps. :)

I like the Colorado Rally idea! If scheduled with a little notice I can just take some time off work, been here so long I get a nice amount of vacation days! Getting across the Continantal Divide can sometimes be dicey In early June, but as we know can also be beautiful! Lets get a plan going! If anyone wants to visit the western slope I have 2 spare bedrooms and a great campground on a lake a half mile from my house.
Just throwing out ideas!!

Well, we could shoot for the June 15th weekend over your way. I'll post it on the events page.

Just replaced my PR3 on the rear and got a solid 15K out of it. Could have gotten a few more extra miles, but time and money lined up perfectly so the switch was made. Put on another PR3. Very happy with performance of the PR3's and have had no issues.

Do you have 15K on your front? I'm a bit over 14K on my front and it is showing some signs of wear. My Dunlop Roadsmart 2 is getting pretty square after 6K+. I don't think it's going to last as long as the PR3.

The PR3s are the best tire that I have ever had on an MC. I had heard that the Pirrelli Angel is very good as well. My experience with Pirrelli is that the performance is outstanding but their longevity is an issue. Perhaps Pirrelli has addressed that with their Angel.

I have 14,500 on my front pr3 and still a lot of miles left in it, I did replace the rear with only alittle over 10 or 11 K, but they were very hard and fast miles not the fault of the PR3, I was loaded very heavily and running very fast a lot of the time on rough tire eating road surface and in hot weather.

AND PHIL, I am supprised by your accusing of Chuck reguarding his bike sleeping on the job! :)

Eldon, as much grief as I get, I love having the chance to dish out even a little bit to someone else.

LOL and we know it is all done in fun, I do agree you do manage to collect your fair share and sometimes with a bit of interest thrown in for good measure

When I don't have anything to do but ride, I still may not get that many miles a year. At least not after I get past 2013 and the "Epic Ride."
