Removing saddlebags etc. from bike.

Hi, I would like to remove my saddlebags and anything else thats in the way of me mounting a trailer hitch. any addvice? thanks...
 
Got a shop manual? If not, I'd get one of those before I tried pulling all the plastic.
 
I'd planned on getting the shop manual. I have one for each of my other bikes. I'll have to go to the Honda shop to order one. I was just wondering if anyone else had taken the rear of the bike apart.
 
I have, but I had the shop manual. There are an awful lot of tabs and screws on the back of the bike and they need to come off in order to keep from breaking something.
 
You can order the shop manual online from Helm Inc. Mine arrived in under a week.
