Apologies for my absence; it's been an interesting few months. . .
In August, I was privileged to experience at first hand the quality of England's ambulance and hospital services thanks to a myopic motorist who somehow "didn't see me" as I was travelling along the road. This may possibly be due to him reaching a T-junction and not even bothering to swivel his scrawny neck to check if there was any traffic. I was only doing 30mph, so it could have been worse, but my lack of practice at "getting off a moving motorcycle" resulted in the bike (thankfully, my old CB500, not my Preciousssss) high-siding me into some railings, then landing squarely between my shoulder-blades. This did sting a bit.
Thankfully, I got away with a few cracked ribs, some grazing (even through armoured leathers - go figure) and general batter'n'bruising. The bike was a 'category C' insurance write-off; i.e. fixable, but cost of repairs in excess of the bike's value.
On the plus side, I can add to my review of the Nolan N104 by saying that it takes a hammering quite well:
The police were on the scene quickly and got the guy to sign an admission of blame so I shouldn't be out of pocket, but I was only off the road for a couple of months, so all's well that ends well.
The NT700 Deauville is still running sweet as a sweet thing, and before my unintended stunt practice, Mrs Nobby & I enjoyed a delightful week touring northern France.
I'm now drooling at this:

?15K with all the bells and whistles is sorely tempting for serious touring and long-haul stuff, but it might need a few months saving my pennies before I can stroll into my local Triumph dealer and place an order. Will still hang onto the Deauville for commuting and fun.
Anywho; main thing is to wish you and yours everything you'd wish for yourselves.
Merry Christmas!
