Not amused...
The screw mounts of the stopper bands on my GF's NT700 are crumbling apart...
Upon inspection I found the other 3 already cracking as well...
So when using epoxy to re-assemble the broken one I re-enforced the others as well...
We'll see how long and well that'll hold up...
Obvious results of a modern, cost cutting design...
On the ST1100 (designed during the 2nd half of the 80ies...) no self-tapping screws in plastic are used in areas/parts of frequent manipulation or service access...
Everything is enforced with speed-nuts or actual bolts, nuts and washers/collars/spacers are used...
(the only self-tapping screws on the ST are found on the front turn-signal lenses and the tips of the pre '95 handlebar cover...)
