Trip meter reset?

Trip meter does not reset. Got the bike out of winter storage, charged and installed the battery. Everything seems to work normally except the trip meter reset. I was able to set the clock and I'm able to switch between english and metric with the buttons, but can't reset either the A or B trip meters. Voltage is normal and I tried with the bike running and off. There is no information in the owners manual or the Honda Service Manual. Anyone have any experience with this?

I forgot to try resetting the fuel mileage, but I'm guessing that doesn't work either.

owners manual page 18: The tripmeter has two sub
modes, ‘‘A’’ and ‘‘B’’. To zero (0) the tripmeter, push
and hold SEL button (page 25 ).

When I did that it didn't do anything.

Problem resolved. I disconnected the battery and then re-connected it. Now it isn't confused any more. It works.
