Is there anyone that is using or has used 90 degree valve stem adapters? If so, do you leave them on full time or just put them on to air up your tires?

I would not leave them on at all.. the extra weight, that might not seem like much, will over time crack your rubber stems.
Go with these instead during your next tire change.

I use an adaptor but I remove it after filling the tires. At my next tire change I am going to follow Mellow's recommendation.
+1 to Mellow's recommendation! I made the change on my first tire change and love them.
I left a 90-degree valve-stem adaptor on the rear wheel of my 1st Concours for about 10,000 miles and had a very sudden deflation at 75mph on I-76. I was lucky to get stopped without going down.
I've got Kurvy-Girl metal stems that are 85-degree stems. I think I paid about $10 for the pair.

Hmm, well, I hadn't looked to see what they are now (obviously!). This danged inflation's getting bad.

Fieroguy, I'm glad I gave you a laugh. I almost deleted my own message for being political, but decided a nearly 200% increase in Kurvy Girl angled metal valve stems was terrible inflation. If Mellow thinks that observation's political, he can delete it!

Nothing political about it. I read it as; "The danged tire inflation is getting bad" (when a valve stem costs $29)!

Poor Phil... ya gotta sympathize with him some, remember the 1st angles valve stems he bought were for a stone wheel.. LOL

I bought that one that pulled my rubber valve stem apart from a BMW shop in Denver and I do know that i paid less than $10 for it.

What I want to know is can I use an adapter just to air up my tires and then take it off?

The 90-degree adaptor I had was a little brass adaptor that I got from a BMW shop. It didn't lose any air when you screwed it on or off. It just shouldn't have been left on. I didn't even think about it's weight flexing the rubber valve stem on my Connie. But if you want to just put it on when you're checking or adding air, you'll be fine with it.

I had asked the shop to put the 90s on and they said OK and of course, they didnt. I dont lke do-overs, so I let it go.
So now I am adapter shopping
