I've ridden CO-92, the Tail of the Dragon, and the Moonshiner 28. I've been on one of the Three Sisters and ridden a bit of Ohio 555.
My favorite is usually the last one that went under the tires.

I didn't really care for the list order either. If you go to the "View all routes" and then pick your state you can find all the posted rides for an area. I have used that when planning rides, like the one we did last year through Colorado. The comments from the people who did the ride are good too.
Usually when these ride ratings come up they will have one I have not seen before. The problem is that the more popular the ride (and it's proximity to cities) means the more crowded it is and the less fun it is. US 191 is a good example. One of the better roads out there, but, it is no where near large towns. Which means that on weekdays it is nearly deserted.

My sentiment also. Any road ridden on a motorcycle is a good road and way better than in a cage.
River Road along the Mississippi any where along the length of the river is as good a ride for curves as you can find....yet no mention in the top 100 list. Hmmmmmm. Guess no motorcyclists have ridden the Mississippi river road except me.
Like most things, everybody has their opinion.
Mostly you have to ride the roads where you live, regardless whether they make "the list" or not.
Lists like these are great fun - and good for new ideas. They often provide a good excuse for still another trip. (Like I really need an excuse.)
For myself, I don't always look for twisties to label a particular road as a nice ride. The scenery is important to me - as is the character of the small towns I like to ride through. I often ride to Houston from deep south Texas to see my daughter, and always take the "back way." The last time I took the route was in early December. Like many other times, I rode through the town of Palacios (the locals pronounce it as Pa-LAH-shus), but this time I noticed a street sign that was very interesting. I did a u-turn and rode down "Vietnam Drive" and saw many homes owned by the Vietnamese shrimpers who came to the area in the late 1970s.
I find a road interesting if it goes through a town that has little cracked-vinyl seat restaurants - the kind of place where the waitress comes to your table chewing gum and asking "Whatcha want, Honey?" That's what I found in Brooksville, Florida, in early December.
There are so many roads yet to be ridden. :smile:

I have (at least part of it)! I agree with you -- it's a great road. Not, IMNSHO, that great for twisties, but never boring and a magnificent ride.

I've ridden 9 of the 10 on the Roadrunner list. NY 23 had escaped my notice. I'll have to check that out next time I'm at the Finger Lakes rally.
I'll have to take exception to NC 129 (the Dragon) as being a good ride. It's an over-hyped, dangerous road in my opinion. There's too much traffic, too many people looking for a thrill, and too many vehicles on the wrong side of the road. The speed limit used to be 55 and they've dropped it to 35. With so many other excellent roads in the area, that's a good one to avoid.
The other list has a bunch of good roads, but I didn't see Rt 191 from Stargo to Alpine in Arizona listed, nor the Rattlesnake Grade at the border of Washington and Oregon on rt 129. Both fantastic rides that put the Dragon to shame.

+1 I might ride it if in the area during a weekday and very early but there are 100s of better roads there and in N. GA that are incredible and have scenery.
