I just watched a video from my old dept, WSP. At this time, they will NOT be making stops to check travel status. Each state could be different. In Europe, they do stop you. There are reports that some are pretending to be LEOs (Law enforcement officers)
For those with FB. The video explains how you can tell a WSP trooper car, marked or not. There are a very few that do NOT have no exterior markings, spot lights, push bars, etc.

Chris, WA will most likely be the last state to stop people. Heck, WA is one of a few states that it isn't even legal to do random DUI sobriety checkpoints of drivers.... so random C19 travel checkpoints may be unlikely. It would be endangering the trooper to conduct travel checks, and there are plenty of freshly released prisoners to keep the troopers busy. This state .....:rolleyes:.

Yeah, that's actually a good thing. DUI checkpoints are expensive, create artificial traffic jams, and don't net enough DWI arrests for the hastle.

Before I retired from WSP in 2004, the state supreame court ruled that it was legal for any trooper to stop any vehicle for any reason. The Patrol policy , though, after that ruling, was "thou shalt not stop a vehicle without a reason...traveling over the white line, no mud flaps, jacked up too high, licence plate light out, etc. Please keep all releashed prisoners over on the left side of the state! ;)

Finding DWIs is like shooting fish in a barrel. You just have to know the best fishing spots. (y)
