My quick take. Riding position perfect. Feels light. My skinny butt hurts after sitting on seat for 5 minutes. If one arrives with clutch, I would consider trading in FJR. IMG_20250528_110558919_HDR_copy_450x600.jpg

Try the DCT. I was presently surprise once I figured out how to use it. Full auto S1 in the city using the manual shifter to down shift for better engine braking. Manual mode for the twisties. Straight auto Drive for best fuel consumption, and left hand can take my many pictures with out having to clutch. And if I miss the clutch and foot shifter I ride my V-Strom or the FJR. Best of all worlds. Go for it. By the way no manual model for 2025. This is how I solved the seat issue temporally

My night hawk seat cushion with the perineum relief area cutout would be a must. Except for the rock hard seat, the bike has lots to reccommend it. I am still ofd fashioned and I want a stick with a tach and speedo on one screen. But if I could get an extended maintenance contract for a reasonalble price, and the FJR is too heavy, I would have to ride a Tracer and this bike.

Either you go with new technology or suffer, speaking of DCT! We are here to help you become part of the NEW 1100 family. Don't you want 400cc more? HP from 60 to 101 HP, 700 v s 1100? Built in USB and cig power. Heated grips and Cruise control. Accepts Apple Car Play and Android Auto. And come back to the NT badge after exploring other inferior brands!!! bahaha.

You asked in the other thread how was it to put up on center stand. I answered, but I'll say again. Now that saddlebags and top case has been installed, a bit more harder, but not impossible. If I don't get up on first try, I just help it along of rocking up with a leg / hip push on the saddlebag. They are more squarish in shape to push against. The 1100 has a wider Butt too, cause saddlebags are not integrated in body like 700 and stick out farther.

how far are you from Tigard, OR? there is one on cycletrader for $10,500 with 75 miles already. just been on 1 day, should go fast

EDIT: private seller @80 yrs old made a wrong choice of buying - somebody's deal!!

New motorcycles are wonderful in general. My “new” 9-year motorcycle is 99# lighter the NT700 and has 45% more hp. Lots of features that I don’t really use but electronic cruise control and heated grips are great.

I wasn’t aware that the NT1100 had Car Play. Some folks will like that but not me. I just don’t need any more distractions while riding. I have Car Play in my car and the only thing I use is the navigation. But I prefer to use my GPS for navigation instead.

That NT1100 on Cycletrader that Dave referenced is a great deal. If I want a new NT I’d be all over that one.

That guy is on Facebook and I saw his reasoning for selling. Too old, he is 80 and says the bike is too much to handle for him Good deal if one can snag it. Time for a Fly and Ride. Or maybe Chris is close enough to drive down and trailer back.

extended maintenance contract for a reasonable price, this is a dealer option to negotiate as I did with my Mom and Pop dealer. 4 years $550 with out road side protection. Honda wants almost twice that amount. Big Markup for the dealers.

Thanks! I missed your reply. With my FJR, if I take off the bags, I can get it up with my current strength level. My VFR and Vstrom arent bad.
I can pass on the Horsepower. My FJR/VFR is fun to pass trucks with on rural western roads where you can see side to side and down the road for ever. The VFR is about perfect at 800 ccs. 140 mph. The FJR and VFR have grip heaters stock and the FJR has cruise and I love that. I could care less about Android auto. My new Subaru coss trek has that. It also has a 12 inch touch screen to set the heating and air conditioning controls and its very dangerous while driving. I do like the CVT on the crosstrek as its easy to hit a paddle and downshift for a hill or slowing to make a turn. It automatically switchs back to drive when I hit the gas.
I am not a good multitasker. But I have never really crashed a bike since I started in 1964. I know a much better pilot than I am who will remain nameless dink around with this screen and that phone and those ear plugs....my helmet sound system will let me blue tooth music from my phone, but in my old age, I seldom use it anymore. I concentrate on riding. Still, the FJR is putting on weight.

Not me. Not at this time. Maybe later. I road Frosty's triump a bit and the bike told me right way it wasnt for me.

We are brothers.

Extended warrenties in this day and age are a must. My 2018 Subaru? I called a dealer in Stamford CT and got an 8 year/80000 mile one for $800 (no turbo)
My new Subaru, dealers out of state are edgy but Working with my dealer and Subaru of America, I got a 7 year/70 k for $2500. List $3500. fully transferable and if you trade it in, you get the unused part prorated.
Here is something many dont know. That 5 year power train warrenty cars usually have? WET PARTS ONLY. Anything that is in lubricant is covered. Everything else? Forget about it. Even my parking brake is run by a computer. Manual or auto off. Manual on. And the main brake has to be pushed to hit the request for start button or turn on the parking brake. You wanna trouble shoot that? Chuck got a deal.
