Does anyone have a picture of an NT700V with the inner pannier plastic removed? Mine continue to fall apart and I would like to see what it looks like without.

Thank you - that's helpful. The fractured plastic is not pretty, either.
IF(!) you manage to get the Givi hardware on, you'll still need to cut up the original panels to close the gaps and protect items like VRR, rear brake master and reservoir, and see to attach that rear fender...

Right! I've been looking at all that. Removed the luggage rack and grab handles to see things better. Removed the pannier latch cable - in good shape. Free to anyone for shipping cost.

There are lots of soft saddlebags out as an option, if you want to go that route. But, you need to build a subframe to support both hard or soft aftermarket bags.

I've looked a bunch of soft bags. I've selected a 22L hard case made by Givi.

It is a sad narrative about the plastic failures on the NT. It is a fabulous motorcycle and it seems a shame that pretty much every NT is now failing in the same way. I hope that Honda has learned a lesson and selects a better quality material for their new motorcycles. After 10+ years the plastic just crumbles apart. The sudden failure of these items reminds me of a poem by Oliver Wendell Holmes entitled "The Deacon's Masterpiece: or the Wonderful One Hoss Shay" The poem describes how the Deacon designed his carriage so strongly that no single part would ever fail, which suddenly led to a simultaneous total breakdown which was quite a surprise to the person riding in it.

I will gladly continue to ride this bike, even when it's cosmetically compromised. It is my favorite ride.

Yeesh, at this point I'd recommend a NC700/50. I'm not a huge fan of that bike but it's super comfy, gets better MPG and you can do whatever you want for luggage.

Yes chain maintenance can be annoying, but is it more annoying than dealing with a crumbling Deauville? I'd much rather do chain maintenance than battle failing NT plastics.

I have a chain bike, occasional adjust and wipe down with gear oil. Not a big deal. It also doesn't have crumbling panniers.

Nah - I do not like chain driven bikes.

Boulevard M50. NT price range or less. Liquid cooled, shaft drive, fuel injected with cast wheels. Whatever saddlebags you'd want to do. Should be way less headache than a crumbling NT.

I will not own a cruiser I have already bought the cases and mounting brackets and will make due with what I have.
