Front Tire Wear

In the picture, your wear bars appear to be in the third tread up from the bottom, (EDIT: bottommost fully visible) They should be in all treads all the way across. The two I can see have a good lip on them.
EDIT: There should also be a triangle in the sidewall, with the apex pointed to the wear line.
Here's what it looks like brand new. I don't recall seeing any tread go all the way across. I will look for the triangle - thnks!

My recent experience is that if you got on the web, you can find the marker for the wear bars, but the actual measured heightt of the the wear bars varies wildly. Drives me nuts. But Mellow teaching me that tires wear much faster at the end of their life has made me a believer. Personally? This will never happen but I think motorcycle tire manufacures should be honest and give out a data sheet that says when THIS wear bar (and there are a number of them) comes THIS close to the surface of the tire, and maybe after this many miles, you have roughly this amount of time left before someone makes big trouble for moose and squirrel.

The bike was mainly used for commuting. The commute was from the countryside onto dual carriageway then, usually, Autoroute (Freeway) and finally city streets. So there was a lot of different speeds from 80 mph to 5 mph. A lot of Lane Splitting, which is the norm in and around Paris (hence the brake wear).

I Have decided to become a conspiricy therorist. Bike tires could be made to easily last 15 k but that would lower profits, so they TELL you the center part is made of harder rubber but in atuality, its rubber designed to look hard but it wears too fast. Requiring you in the US to buy new tires every 10K

Not saying I entirely agree with everything this guy says but I will offer it for your consideration.
