Addendum: I am home now with a keyboard. Here are the events as they happened. It was raining pretty hard so I stopped, parked my bike in a proper site, and noticed these people. I thought to myself, I have never seen this type of entitled behavior in 60 years....there was no hail, for instance.
I went inside and did my business and when I came out of my little room, the rest area attendant came over to me quite upset. She thanked me for parking my bike properly and told me when she informed those three that it was against the rules to ride/drive on the pedestrian walkway and would they please move their bikes back to the road, they told her, "Call the Police" and laughed at her.
I asked if they spoke with an accent and she said no, they were just rich entitled Harley owners (HER words) I felt bad she was bullied and I can see why she might be scared to call the state patrol, who were probably too busy to worry about this anyway.
(I had another Pirate actually talk to me at a gas pump I was using WHILE SMOKING. )

Saw pleanty of those coming from Sturgis....trailer queens. My friend who lives there said they lost 10 bikers this year....wonder what the average is?
I wonder what they do in other countries with bikes with no mufflers and blaring stereos and ape hangers?
They are not allowed in other countries. confiscate them, or the rider gets a very hefty fine.

I wanna live in a country where sensible laws are enforced....I would sit in on staff meetings at my state patrol district office and the Capt would relay the chief's orders. When the bikers come through Spokane from Seattle going to Sturgis, leave them alone. Yes, they and their bikes break umpty eleven laws.... leave them alone. Chief dont want any bystanders hurt in chases and shoot outs.

As someone who has worked for police for 30 years, I would say you are right in the eyes of the "defund the police" politicians. In my old agency, "WSP", there were only so many troopers and they lost so many dispatchers they had t close a communications center. Its very hard to find LEOs these days.
So the Sgts are given a list of what they want their troopers to enforce. If a biker rides away from a traffic stop, the trooper has orders to not chase them. Seriously. They are also told not to write up a report on the incident.
People get the Law enforcement they deserve.
You want believe me, but right now in Spokane county, all the flock cameras are coming down to "people" having a fear of their privacy. These are the same people that scream when their car is stolen or their daughter is kidnapped.....
Yea, they are whining about the Flock camera here in Colorado also.

The people who whine about flock cameras have something to hide. Affairs, for instance, or they speed alot. WA state passed a law...no more clear license plate covers. Of course, they were made to make reading the license plate harder by LEO or camera and this law is widely ignored.
You people think I make this stuff up but there was a new state congressman who presented a law to outlaw police K9s. K9s save officer and perp lives.

LONGVIEW, Wash. — Last year, Cowlitz County Sheriff's Deputy Brady Spaulding and his K-9, Icarus, flushed a deadly shooting suspect out of hiding in a heavily wooded area.
"A lot of times once we track someone, once they see the dog coming, they go, 'I give up, I'm done,' and we've resolved that peacefully," Spaulding said.
According to Spaulding, law enforcement would not have located the suspect without the K-9. He says dogs are capable of things humans simply are not.
"They have such greater enhanced senses of smell, sight and hearing," he said. "We use them as a tracking and locating tool as their first and foremost function."
Spaulding is now in danger of losing his K-9 partner.
Washington State Rep. Jesse Johnson sponsored House Bill 1054. If passed, it would ban a number of police tactics including chokeholds, tear gas and the use of police dogs for arresting or apprehending somebody.
Public safety would be in danger without K-9s, according to Cowlitz County Chief Criminal Deputy Troy Brightbill.
"I think that if this is passed as written, it'll make our job more difficult," said Brightbill. "It'll make things less safe for our communities and law enforcement officers."
. "It's going to put a lot more cops at risk of getting hurt or killed, and it's a danger to the community."
The new law was cited for a decision by Pierce County deputies who said they couldn’t deploy a K9 unit in a murder case because of the restrictions from the new laws. The incident in Puyallup led to the death of Franklin Thananga, 16, who also goes by the name Franklin Kiraba. No one has been arrested in his death as of Thursday, officials said.
Police in Bonney Lake Police said a similar situation occurred in their jurisdiction this week as well involving an attempted robbery and shooting linked a truck crash into a home.
The suspect fled from the scene, but the police didn’t use their police dog because they believed the new laws means officers must have absolute probable cause or risk breaking the law.
Thankfully. House Bill 1054 was drastically watered down.

Ask ANY cop what is the biggest change in law enforcement in the last 50 years and its perps run and dont obey orders. I love dogs...I hate to see the lastest ones get shot and strangled. But its better than a dead cop or the next person the perp kills or maims. The other big advantage of dogs is that if the perp pulls a gun against the dog you can take your AR and fill the perp with little holes. (this image is probably AI but represents what LEOs face accurately. )
Meanwhile in liberal peoples republic of California.

Officers can cite or arrest people, but then the district attorney can prosecute or not. If it goes to prosecution many of the charges are dropped. Then it goes to plea bargaining where even more charges are dropped. Then it might even get to trial and may result in a sentencing where more concessions are usually made. Or maybe the subject is acquitted by a jury.
Officers I know are tired of writing citations that result in only a big waste of time. Has there ever been a case in recent years where a person was charged, prosecuted, found guilty, and served his entire sentence??

As someone who was deeply involved in the process for violators, and testified in court, I can tell you the system is broken. It's pretty straight forward for violators in traffic court. Most pay the miner fine. Some contest it if their insurance rates go through the roof. But many violators just blow off tickets if they have nothing to loose. I heard one trooper over my radio stop a guy with 27 failures to appear in court.
But the higher crimes are sickening. Guy lawyers up and the poor overloaded prosecutor plea bargins and we suffer. The guy who burned down 700 Spokane homes is a prime example. But if you have big bucks, you can hire top gun lawyers and get away with shooting an insurance executive in the back and only get charged for stalking.
The problem is us. We think doorbell ring cameras are fine but not flock cameras. Until our daughters are kidnapped, that is. The criminals are winning.
