15th Nat'l NT Rally - Jun 18-21, 2025 - Spearfish, SD

Back home today, had to nurse a rear tire I wasn't sure about while battling Kansas high winds and 102 degree Temps but turned out ok.

Good seeing everyone and hope everyone has a safe trip home, another great event with good friends.

What, no pictures of Pizza night. Did you all get any rain.

I saw temperatures from 56-108 yesterday (with no mountain elevations involved). Electric vest to cooling vest. Turning northward today and hoping for more pleasant conditions. Plan to arrive home Monday.

Only IMG_20250621_192244836_HDR_copy_800x657.jpg 102 temps in Kansas but the wind was brutal, felt like 50+mph gusts.
Saw a guy touring on a Versus 300 who said the wind beat the crap out of him. 46 and cloudy and breezy in Buffalo. Snow coming to mountains. Gonna hole up for the day and bag the Bighorns and slab it home in two days. Ken and I had breakfast at the only dinner open on Sunday morning. Zoo. Big Timber tomorrow night. 300 cc touring bike. Got slammed by the wind. Guy was wearing good gear, built like me but 50 years younger.

Ran into cold fog bank Spearfish to Buffalo for 10 miles. Airplane on a stick props were really spinning in the head wind.

Ya, WIND!!!! Get bad as the day goes on. Supposed to become more westerly but not for another 6 hours. image.jpg

Now THIS ride seems to handle the wind a lot better.

Home now. I was going to drive the Bighorns today but nature had cold damp foggy cloudy and likely snow planned so while i could have driven there, I would not have seen any mountain views. Coyote Chris decided to wait at Buffalo WY and see if he can give it a go tomorrow; I elected to head for home.

I'm glad I went to Spearfish again this year, even though it was driving a car rather than riding a bike!
