6th Nat'l NT Rally - July 6-9, 2016 - Spearfish, SD

I bet I can't carry any where near as much camping stuff on my NT as I could if I had a vette...

Coyote Chris isn't camping this year so you have a good shot at bringing the most camping gear. But Chris will be there and can give good pointers on how to load an NT to the max. I sure hope you can definitely try to make it.

Well it will be interesting to see which red one Chris will be riding , butt traveling light probably with maybe one bag . or possibly none in sight it will be a crisp 2014!:)!

The Vette roadster does really have a good sized trunk IF you leave the top up!

If I dont need surgury, and can make it, I will be riding the NT. All I need to do Is find the radiator leak...perhaps a hose connection. In May, I have two new tires to put on, do the valves, change a few fluids and find the leak.....The FJR will go on a trip in Aug and to Reno in September, at the very least. If I keep my health, I feel I can enjoy the FJR for a few years to come, and save the Nt For later years....

Who? ME? I pack light!

Phil, I plan on going up on the 5th, I am camping but if you want to meet up somewhere and ride part way together or just meet in Spearfish give me a shout. jim

Ok..I made a reservation at Bell's...checking in in the eve of July 5...check out first thing on July 10..

Looking forward to it...1400 miles, probably cover about 500/day, leaving Ohio July 3, not too early in the morning.

I'll see you there. I'm riding up with Jim Moore on the 5th. He's camping, but I'm at Bell's. Wanna' plan on eating supper together?

I'm getting real close to pulling the trigger on the NT rally this year but have not made a rez at either the campground or the motel. If anybody is looking for a roomie at the motel or has extra room at their campsite, please PM me otherwise I will call and see what's available in the area.

We'd really like to see you there, Mike! I don't know if Bell's Motel still has rooms, but give them a call at (605) 642-3812. I have a room there (but a single room) and there will be others. In the evening, we cluster around the big tree in the courtyard, sit at the picnic table and solve the problems of the world over "adult beverages" (as Phil calls them).

mIKE, I HOPE YOU WERE A LE TO SNAG A ROOM AT BEL'S. tHE PAST TWO YEARS I HAVE CANCLREDAT THE LAST MINUT BUT THIS YEAR I m in for the long hUL. wE WILL BE IN THE FAR ROOM AWAY FROM OFFICR EITHBIG TREE BETWEEN US AND STREET. LET IT BE KNOWN IF YU DID GET A ROOM.

Mike, I'm sure there is room for you somewhere in Spearfish. If they can handle the Sturgis overflow I'm sure there is room for you somewhere. Campsites aren't a problem. We have a range of campsites assigned to us and we sprawl all over them without much regard to site boundaries. Now, who sits next to the beer cooler might be another story. The only real issue at the campground is that only a couple site have electricity. There is electricity in the pavilion folks use to charge their devices while having important meetings about who went where and where they might go next and with whom and on which bike etc, etc, etc.

The NT and ST riders are getting better at co-habitating at the campground. There is no discrimination, but friendships still tend to follow NT/ST lines. Then there are those on Beemers, Suzukis, Yamahas, Triumphs, and other Hondas. It is a pretty exclusive club - you have to show up to get in. Other than that the standards aren't real high.

You are expected to attend. You have a verbal report to give about your Civil War Ride (in the rain). Hope we don't have to wait another year.

I called Bell's last night and Jessy said that she could squeeze me in someplace. Now I just have to confirm the vacation days on Tuesday.

There seems to be a mass migration from the campgournd to Bell's motel. Is the motel becoming the default event headquarters? Somehow I don't think that will ever happen with Mellow around.

Coyote Chris had a good idea a few years ago to make some name tags and/or tent tags to help us identify each other. Getting names and adding photos becomes a challenge for this group, especially when you consider the ST contingency too. Anyway I guess it was just too much of an organizational formality for this informal group. So I forget a few names - who cares.

Mike,

That sounds oood! It will be interesting to see what SQUEEZED IN will translate too???BUT better than if she had said hung up with the idea of using the big tree:)

As Jim so eloquEntly said I do think Bell's has become the unofficial rally HQ! I would speculate THAT PROBABLY AT LEAR 1/2 OF THE nt CONTINGInt will be thereT THE MOTEL, POSSIBLY MORE WHOARE BEING QUIET ABOUT IT.

Excellent!! See you there, Mike. You'll know who I am, easily enough. I'm the guy riding an NT. :)

The first year we were in Spearfish, someone had been going to make name tags. I brought the gizmos to put them in, but the nametags didn't show up.
