Been quite a while since I posted, having sold my NT back in April 2019. Many fond memories of that bike, which I had set up just as I liked, including the recommended rear shock spring change and latch mechanism fix, wind deflectors, lower cowling etc etc But at that time I had a few other bikes that were meeting my objectives, and I got a 2011 Suzuki GSX1250FA (the faired Bandit 1250S) that gave me a chance to experience a big bore inline sport tourer. All good, except I often missed the NT.
Then yesterday, doing my occasional check on the local Craig's Listing, there was my NT! Looked like the guy I sold it to had taken reasonable care, not that many additional miles. And he still had the large lids and other extras I sold to him with the bike. I am going over tomorrow to check it out, but assuming all looks good, I may have a second bite at the NT apple.
I am pretty excited. I've put on some years, would like to get back to the NT's ergos and wind protection, know all the bike' maintenance requirements, by today's standards the plastic is easy to deal with, and I expect to be quite happy with the performance. I've given serious thought to getting an NC750X, but getting back to the NT would meet my objectives for a lot less money. And it would be a fun story.
