Remove rear fender? Check.
Remove axle bolt and brake stop bolt.... Check.
Slide rear wheel off drive line splines? Check.
Lower we'll out and roll out from under the bike? Check.

Inspect and replace brakes.
Anyone who has yet to do brakes on an NT 700? Don't let the plastic scare you!

Sorry, but that is not the easy way.
If all you want to do is change the pads, without any work on the disc or caliper is is not necessary to remove anything except the pin that holds the pads in.
It is a five minute job!

I have to agree with Macka. This is NOT what I call easy.
Anyone have how-to picks for simply changing the pads?
Dryroad

get a piece of straight hex stock
insert between muffler and pannier; remove locking pin
That is how I would do it also. Of course I also change tires without pulling the muffler or fender, that is pretty tight then. The caliper pins should be lubed now and then, a good time would be during a tire change when the wheel is already off.
