Ethanol E15 update... caution!!!

Yesterday, the EPA issued an emergency approval for the use of E15 as a replacement for E10. This was done to help alleviate high fuel prices and fuel shortages due to the conflict in Iran . There was no mention of changing the labels on the pumps.

Well we would all expect that they’d change the labels on the pumps. But at the same time there doesn’t seem to be any rules anymore. I agree - buyer beware.

From what I was able to find out, it does appear that the labeling requirement at the pumps to identify E10 and E15 will remain in place. I look forward to the day when the government gets out of the fuel market and corn liquor is dropped from the fuel source.
