Last night while surfing the net for the latest motorcycle news I ran across this ad....

To my continuing amazement, Wal-Mart is now selling motorcycles! They are actually allowing a ChiCom bike distributor in Texas to sell the bikes on their website. The bikes are delivered to your residence where you uncrate it, and assemble it (what could go wrong!?). They offer bikes up to 250cc. The only net positive I can see is maybe the low price will allow some folks entry into the sport and motorcycling will be reenergized once again.... shades of the 60's.......

That is pretty surprising. I wouldn't expect drum brakes on a new bike either, they may have had a warehouse full of leftover parts to use up.
It probably won't be my next ride but a whole bike for that price is doing something.

I actually miss kick starting a bike. Last one I owned was a 1980 Yamaha 850 triple.
I don't! Aside from my dalliance with two Brit bikes and a Yamaha dirt bike, I haven't looked back since my CB160 in 1965.

I'm inclined to think I wouldn't want to kick start my NT. The 850 Triple was 20 years ago and it was easy to kickstart. I like the idea of kickstarting. I am enjoying electric start and fuel injection. That part is new to me and it is marvelous.

They are not going to sell many, they are out of stock.

Back in March of last year I was out riding with a friend, saw this bike in the A&W parking lot, started talking to the guy. He made the bike from a $1700 "crate" dirt bike from Amazon, 250cc "Honda" engine. My friend and I couldn't believe it, thought it was the neatest thing. The guy had no written plans, just saw the vision, ordered the parts, cut the bike to make it work. I later saw the bike on craigslist, he was asking maybe $3K, can't remember for sure.
